⚠️
This internship was for a B2B health-tech company with a lot of sensitive data. This page does not reflect everything I worked on and certain explorations are protected under NDA — if you would like to learn more please reach out :)
OVERVIEW

Wellth reaches and motivates individuals struggling to adhere to care plans, rewarding them for healthy behaviors through daily engagement.

Sends a custom reminder
Members get reminders for their daily behaviors such as taking medication or testing blood glucose levels

Checks in their task
Using their smartphone, members take a photo of their check-in task. Wellth validates the check-in and analyzes it for patterns to identify indicators of nonadherence.

Pays for healthy results
Once they’ve successfully completed all their check-ins for that day, members are notified that they kept their daily incentive amount.
PROBLEM

Chronic disease patients especially elderly users in low-income communities often face systemic barriers to healthcare adherence, including unfamiliarity with technology, limited dexterity or literacy, and inaccessible digital tools
Enrollment FOrm Project
01 The enrollment form is a crucial step in onboarding new members at Wellth, filled out by Member Enrollment Specialists (MES) during live calls. The form had not been updated in 3+ years, and our team saw an opportunity to improve it for clarity, usability, and impact.
a.
Conducted primary and secondary research
b.
Led shadowing sessions and interviews with MES
c.
Synthesized findings into actionable insights
d.
Designed wireframes and prototypes
e.
Facilitated & incorporated feedback after user testing

After
⚠️
This project has shipped and is currently in use by internal teams. Due to confidentiality, key details are hidden—but I’m happy to walk you through the journey. Just ask :)
02 As part of the solution, I created a contextual process timeline that mapped the MES journey in real time. This artifact helped the team better understand how and when MES interact with different tools and users, ultimately broadening the company’s lens on user needs beyond just the form redesign.
⚠️ Protected internal content!

03 By outlining key simplifications and exposing unnecessary complexities in the MES workflow, I clarified how the enrollment process could be made more intuitive and streamlined.
It also uncovered a previously overlooked opportunity: a self-enrollment form for members.
Despite initial concerns about the app’s older user base, this solution proved viable and has since been launched, empowering members to enroll independently and reducing operational load.
PAckaging Design
01 As part of a year-end initiative, I redesigned Wellth’s member appreciation email to shifting away from a stats-heavy marketing message to one rooted in emotional connection and storytelling.
a.
Researched best-in-class year-in-review campaigns and email design practices
b.
Audited the 2022 email to identify tone and layout improvement areas
c.
Designed visuals and rewrote copy to center the member experience
d.
Delivered a celebratory, privacy-conscious email
02 The goal was to celebrate your members by honoring different milestones or achievements throughout the year making them feel like they’re a part of the Wellth community
👥 Build emotional resonance with an inclusive, member-first tone
Shift away from brand-centric stats and toward encouraging, human-centered language that makes members feel seen and appreciated.
🎉 Celebrate user progress through a personalized narrative
Leverage milestone data (e.g., check-ins, rewards) to create a story arc that reinforces health-related habit formation and boosts intrinsic motivation.
🔍. Enhance information clarity through layout and visual hierarchy
Apply email UX best practices to improve readability, support skimmability, and reduce cognitive load, especially for older audiences.
📢 Drive lightweight engagement through a subtle call to action
Feature one meaningful member story and invite others to contribute, strengthening the sense of community without feeling intrusive.

Because this email reaches members managing chronic conditions, it was vital to not only acknowledge their hard work and progress but also to celebrate their lives and resilience!

More Projects
01 I created a packaging design for internal customers. Each box was personalized with a special message.

02 Scoping possibilities in haptic feedback in order to intuitively communicate different messages and urgencies to users
03 Designing a splash screen animation by animating the logo to bring delight to users
04 Researching best practices and conceptualizing custom notification processes that will best personalize each user's process
Learned Takeaways
I could never have imagined how much I would learn, grow, and absorb these past few months. Despite the internship being mostly virtual, I still had so many great chances to work with amazing designers and make connections with them. Here are some of the biggest takeaways.
01 Be Meticulous
Redesigns from an already existing version might be more intuitive and useful however, changing a process that has been established will be met with opposition. Each change should be paired with a metric and concrete reasoning.
02 Explore The Unknown
This internship prioritized how information could be intuitively displayed. This meant I had the opportunity to hold feedback sessions, shadowing agents, and more. I truly enjoyed learning about the healthcare industry which opened a new possibility.
03 Design For good
I found the importance of designing for things that you care about. Listening to Wellth users express gratitude for how this app has impacted their lives was an invaluable experience.
